Antigorio ExperienceFirst Day
The Charm of Water and Rock
The stay begins at Rifugio Monte Zeus, nestled in one of the most enchanting natural areas of the upper valley and easily accessible by car.
The Marmitte dei Giganti and the Orridi di Uriezzo are two extraordinary examples of the ancient power of water and ice in the Antigorio Valley and can be easily visited from the refuge.
The day concludes with a traditional dinner at the refuge, where the flavors of the valley blend with the warm and intimate atmosphere of alpine hospitality.

Second Day
Towards the Ancient Walser Village and the Discovery of Llamas and Alpacas
After breakfast, guests will reach, by their own means, the hamlet of Passo di Premia in just 15 minutes, where they can park their car and continue on foot along a scenic route to Salecchio Superiore, one of the most picturesque Walser villages in the Alpine arc.
Here stands Rifugio Zum Gora, surrounded by dark wooden houses, historic barns, and a timeless silence.
In addition to the historical and architectural value of the village, the experience is enriched by a special encounter with Davide’s llamas and alpacas, dedicated to our guests. An authentic and engaging moment: guests can meet them up close, listen to stories and curiosities, and discover the surprising character of these extraordinary animals, perfectly integrated into the alpine environment.

The Ascent to Salecchio
Leaving the car in the dirt parking area on the left after the hamlet of Passo di Premia, the route continues on foot along a jeep-accessible road, partly paved. Upon reaching the unlit tunnel, it is also possible to proceed outside via the old path. The road then winds through a charming forest of conifers and beeches until reaching Salecchio Inferiore, the former “capital” of the municipality that existed until 1966, where the church, the Walser cemetery, and the old town hall—once an elementary school and now the Walser Museum—are located.
After visiting Salecchio Inferiore, the route continues along a beautiful wide path alternating between forest and panoramic viewpoints over the valley below. Upon reaching the votive chapel, Salecchio Superiore is near. Emerging from the forest, the first houses of the ancient village appear, among which stands Rifugio Zum Gora, located on a panoramic terrace overlooking the splendid Val d’Ossola, all the way to its main town, Domodossola.
